Graduates of Junior Diamond Prospects, established in 2007, are continuing to make their mark in the SC high school ranks. How do we know? Well, we went back and did the research and found history on our site of quite a contingent of players that have been named to the six rosters of Diamond Prospects premier event, the "Palmetto Games", which will be held this weekend (Aug. 12-14) at the home of the two time reigning NCAA champions, the University of South Carolina Gamecocks.
We at Junior Diamond Prospects expected the number to increase from last year's event, when we had over 25 players listed, as we have seen even more of the young men we have evaluated in person find their places on varsity rosters of South Carolina prep schools and actually contribute at that level. We have uncovered quite a large group so far, a list this year that includes several commitments to colleges already, some at the D1 level. We knew who they were before they became names in newspapers and other publications that cover high school and college baseball. We'll miss on our share too but how's this for an eye for talent?
